Blessings, Middlebury Church Family and Community

My wife, JoNell, and I met at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.  She was working at Texas Instruments as a computer engineer for the defense industry during the day and taking classes at Perkin’s School of Theology at night.  In 1994, we were married and lived in Camden, Arkansas, where I served in my first appointment as the associate pastor of FUMC Camden.

We have two children (young men), James and Jeremiah Eaton.  James is currently doing his residency at Loyola Medical School in the field of neurology. Jeremiah is currently working on a Master’s of Cyber Security at DePaul University.  Both sons are graduates of Wabash College.

While in Arkansas, I had served churches as an associate pastor with a focus on youth and pastoral care.  I have served as a senior pastor for two church charges as well as single church charges.

I joined the Arkansas Army National Guard in 2003 as a Chaplain.  When I deployed to Kuwait/Iraq in 2006, our family moved to Munster, Indiana.  When I returned from my deployment in 2007, I served as a National Guard Chaplain Recruiter for 3 years. Once that tour was completed, I served as the Mobilization Chaplain at Camp Atterbury from 2011 to 2013.  I returned to Indiana to serve at the Akron UMC in June of 2013.   I deployed for the last time to Kuwait/Iraq in 2018.  When I returned from my deployment, I resumed my position as senior pastor of Akron UMC.

We are excited about the new possibilities and new blessings to come during this time of new beginnings.
